Scope of work
Oakwood Parks and Recreation was a 1-acre public park renovation for Oakwoods LLC in Tyler, Texas. The work included selective demolition of aging asphalt, concrete, and play equipment; a new playground with concrete curb and engineered wood fiber fall surfacing; new concrete sidewalks and an accessible entry plaza built to TDLR/TAS standards; and resurfacing of the basketball and tennis courts with acrylic surfacing and new striping. Site amenities included benches, picnic tables, grills, drinking fountains, and bike racks. The project closed out with tree planting, solid sod, and hydroseeding, with watering for establishment.
Wealthcraft Partners LLC served as prime general contractor, responsible for scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, quality control, and safety. We self-performed listed trades — demolition, concrete flatwork, site amenities, paving, and sealcoating — and managed subcontractors, including 25% certified M/W/SBE participation. We implemented the project's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, kept the surrounding neighborhood and the adjacent school and streets safe through phased work zones and traffic control, and coordinated directly with the owner's project manager and the design team through weekly progress meetings.
The project reached substantial completion and certificate of occupancy on 10/02/2024, on schedule, five days ahead of the contract time, and within the original contract amount. Zero lost-time.
